Cancel a print job from the control panel

NOTE:

The control panel display might vary on each printer model. Some printers will have a Stop button or a Cancel button  to cancel print jobs.

To cancel a print job:

Press the Cancel button  on the printer control panel to cancel a job currently printing.

  • If a print job is currently printing, pressing the Cancel button  clears the job that is currently printing.

  • If more than one process is running, pressing the Cancel button  clears the process that currently displays on the printer control panel.

NOTE:

If the print job is too far into the printing process, you might not have the option to cancel it.

  1. From the Windows start menu, select your printer, and then open the print queue window to view the list of print jobs.

    • Windows 11: Select the Windows icon on the center of the taskbar, click Settings, and then click Bluetooth & devices from the left pane. Select Printers & scanners, and then select your printer from the list.

      In the Printer settings list, click Open print queue to open the print queue window.

    • Windows 10: Right-click the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of the screen, click Settings, and then click Devices. In the left pane, click Printers & scanners. Select your printer in the Printers & scanners list.

      Click Open queue to open the print queue window.

    • Windows 8 and 8.1: Right-click in the lower-left corner of the screen to display the menu. Click Control Panel, and then click Devices and Printers.

      Right-click the printer icon, and then select See what's printing to open the print queue window.

    • Windows 7: Click the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of the screen, and then click Devices and Printers.

      Right-click the printer icon, and then select See what's printing to open the print queue window.

  2. Right-click the print job that you want to cancel, and then click Cancel.
