Learn how to add a watermark to printed pages when printing from Windows. Predefined watermarks are available in the software, or there is an option to create a new watermark.

Use predefined watermarks when printing

Follow these steps to use a predefined watermark to printed pages when printing from an Office application (or app) in Windows.

  1. From the Office app, select the Print option.

  2. Select the printer, and then click the Properties, Printer Properties, or Preferences.

  3. Click the Effects tab.

  4. In the Watermarks drop-down list, select a watermark.

  5. Select the First page only check box to print the watermark on the first page only. Otherwise, the watermark will print on each page.

  6. Click OK to close the settings or properties dialog box.

  7. In the Print dialog box, click Print to print the job.

Create a watermark when printing

Follow these steps to create a watermark to printed pages when printing from an Office application (or app) in Windows.

  1. From the Office app, select the Print option.

  2. Select the printer, and then click the Properties, Printer Properties, or Preferences.

  3. Click the Effects tab.

  4. In the Watermarks area, click Edit.

  5. In Watermarks or Current Watermarks area, click New.

  6. In the Watermark Message field, enter a message that will display as the watermark on the printed page(s).

  7. Specify the settings for the watermark (such as font and color).

    Depending on your Windows version save the watermark settings:

    • Click Add, and then click OK to close the Watermarks dialog box.

    • Click OK to close the Watermark Details dialog box.

  8. Select the First page only check box to print the watermark on the first page only. Otherwise, the watermark will print on each page.

  9. Click OK to close the settings or properties dialog box.

  10. In the Print dialog box, click Print to print the job.
