Learn how to adjust the print settings in Windows to scale (resize) a document to fit the size of the page being printed.

Scale to fit paper size using the printer settings

Follow these steps to specify the size of a document to fit the page size for printing.

NOTE:

The print setting options will vary depending on the Windows version and Office applications or app.

  1. From the Office app, select the Print option.

  2. Select the printer, and then click Properties, Printer Properties, or Preferences.

  3. Click the Effects tab.

  4. Select the Print document on option, and then select a size from the drop-down list.

  5. Click OK to close the printer settings or properties dialog box.

  6. In the Print dialog box, click OK or Print to print the job.

    Depending on your Windows version, click Apply to save the settings, and then click Print in the Print dialog box.
