HP LaserJet Pro - Use an iOS mobile device to set up a wireless-capable printer on a wireless network
Introduction
You can use an iOS mobile device such as an iPhone or iPad to set up a wireless-capable printer on a wireless network. Simply install the HP Smart app on the device and set up the printer's connection to the wireless network. Then connect the iOS mobile device to the same wireless network and send print jobs from the device.
NOTE:The iOS operating system includes Apple Airprint®, a feature that provides wireless printing without the need to download or install print drivers.
Requirements
Before you begin, make sure you have the following requirements:

An active Internet connection and a wireless network

The wireless network password or key (if required by your network)
-
An HP LaserJet Pro wireless-enabled printer that has been set up and turned on
-
An iPhone or iPad that is connected to the wireless network

Step one: Restore the printer network settings
Restore the printer network settings to the factory defaults. Follow the steps for your control panel type:
IMPORTANT: If you previously connected a USB cable or Ethernet cable to your printer, disconnect it now.

From the Home screen on the printer control panel, swipe the tab at the top of the screen downward to open the Dashboard, and then touch the Setup icon

Open the Network Setup menu.

Select Restore Network Settings.

From the Home screen on the printer control panel, swipe until the Setup menu displays. Touch the Setup icon
to open the menu. -
Scroll to and touch the Network Setup menu.

Select Restore Defaults.
2-line LCD control panel
Follow these steps for printers that have a 2-line LCD control panel:
NOTE:Steps vary according to the printer model.

Use the arrow buttons and the OK button to navigate to and open the Setup menu, and then the Network Setup menu.

Select Restore Network Settings.When the network settings are restored to factory defaults, the printer automatically restarts and the wireless light on the control panel begins to pulse.

Continue to the next steps.
NOTE:
You must perform the next steps within two hours after the printer restarts.
HP LaserJet Pro printers with a 2-line LCD control panel (except M404dw, M405dw, M454nw)

On the printer control panel, press the OK button. Open the Network Setup menu, and then select Restore Defaults.When the network settings are restored to factory defaults, the printer automatically restarts and the wireless light on the control panel begins to pulse.

Step two: Get the HP Smart app

On the iOS device, go to Settings, locate the Bluetooth setting
, and then turn it on. -
If it is not already connected, connect the iOS device to the same network in which you want to connect the printer.

Go to 123.hp.com.

Tap Get the App and then follow the prompts to install HP Smart.
Step three: Set up the printer on the wireless network

Open the HP Smart app and accept the End User License Agreement. On the prompt to allow HP Smart notifications, tap Allow.

Tap the message that appears on the screen. The message says "We found your printer, so let's get it set up and connected. Tap here to start."
NOTE:
If the message does not appear on the screen, tap the plus symbol
to find the printer. -
Tap Continue.

Enter the wireless network password if necessary, and then tap Continue.

Wait until the printer connects to the network. It might take a few minutes. When the printer is connected, the wireless light on the control panel stops pulsing.

Tap Continue, tap Skip This Step, and then select Yes when prompted to confirm.

Tap Print to print a test page. The document prints over the wireless network to your HP LaserJet Pro printer.
The printer is ready for wireless printing from your iOS mobile device.
Optional: Print a network configuration page
If you want to print from additional devices, print a network configuration page from the printer control panel. The page shows the settings for the printer, including the IP address, which can be used to set up your printer on other devices.
Follow the steps for your type of control panel:
