HP Smart app – Cannot create Shortcuts with Dropbox or QuickBooks

You are unable to create Shortcuts when turning on Dropbox or QuickBooks on the HP Smart app on Windows devices. After attempting to create a shortcut, one of the following windows displays:

  • Dropbox: Can't connect to the service or We can't connect to the service you need right now.

  • QuickBooks: A blank screen without a message.

Use the HP Smart app from your mobile device or Mac to create the shortcut.

Create Shortcuts to Dropbox and QuickBooks using HP Smart

Use the HP Smart app from your mobile device or Mac to create Shortcuts to Dropbox or QuickBooks.

  1. Download the HP Smart app from 123.hp.com, and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the app.

  2. Open the HP Smart app, and then click Add Printer or the Plus sign to select your printer.

    NOTE:

    If prompted, sign in to your HP Account.

  3. Click Shortcuts > Create a Shortcut (iOS) or (Android).

  4. Tap Save to.

  5. Turn on Dropbox or QuickBooks.

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to your cloud account.

  7. Click Back, enter a name for your Shortcut, and then tap Save (Android, iOS) or Done (Mac).

    The new Shortcut displays on the Shortcuts screen.

  8. On your Windows device, open the HP Smart app, and then tap Shortcuts.

The new Shortcut displays.
